A West End smash hit comedy about two of Britain’s most powerful women is coming to the Cambridge Arts Theatre.

Direct from success at London’s Tricycle Theatre, Handbagged will be at the theatre from October 12-17.

Written by Moira Buffini, it tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and Margaret Thatcher, two enduring icons born in the same year.

One is destined to rule, the other elected to lead. But whenthe stiff upper lip slips and the gloves come off, who has the upper hand?

The award-winning and witty show began life as a one-act play for the Tricycle Theatre’s Women, Power and Politics Festival in 2010.

On Tuesday, October 13, there will be a pre-show talk from Dr Christopher Brooke, University of Cambridge lecturer.
