COLOUR, glamour, fantastic song and dance routines and the memorable music of Gershwin will entertain audiences at Bury St Edmunds’ Theatre Royal in the coming week,
Crazy For You is a high-energy eye-catching show which tells the story of Bobby Child, a 1930s playboy whose dream in life is to dance.
Bobby is played by Marc Kerr, 26, a former King Edward V1 student who has been with the Irving Stage Company for some years and played some of its lead roles. He is moving to London to take up a professional acting career and this could be his last show in Bury.
Emily Mizen, 24, plays Polly in her first production with the company although she has performed with Suffolk Young People’s Theatre and in the recent Bury Operatic and Dramatic Society’s Carousel.
Irving director Sian Couture said: “It’s a high-energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dances numbers and classic Gershwin music.”
Among the well known songs are I Got Rhythm, Someone to Watch Over Me, Embraceable You and Nice Work If You Can Get It.
The show runs from Tuesday to Saturday with a matinee on Saturday. Tickets are available from the Theatre Royal Box Office 01284 769505 or www.theatreroyal.org
