In a flurry of petticoats, braces and dancing shoes, Polka Dots and Petticoats presented a one-off fifties style party at the weekend.

The online vintage style dress room store hosted the themed party at the Anthenaeum on Saturday evening.

On arrival guests were greeted with a 1950 Buick car and a glass of bubbly.

As the party-goers swung into the grand hall of the Anthenaeum, music from the fabulous Rockabellas trio got guests on their feet as well as Ipswich's seventeen piece live band 'Swing Machine' which perfected the fifties theme, which was a joy to watch by all 100 guests.

Included in the night was an American style two course meal, which included burgers, hot dogs, potatoes, salad, cheesecake and chocolate brownies.

In the nights peak the dance floor was never empty with an array of colourful dresses, shoes and suits.

The bar was flowing with all types of drinks including Prosecco, spirits and beer.

A well enjoyed night it seemed by all, with most I expect going home with sore feet and a definite feel for the era.

Polka Dots and Petticoats offer a unique shopping experience, based in Stowmarket, with appointment only dressing room browsing.
