A duo of plays by celebrated British writer and director Alan Ayckbourn are coming to Cambridge next month.

The double bill will see one of the playwright’s most popular plays, Confusions, performed alongside the world premiere of his new 79th play, Hero’s Welcome.

The two plays will be showing at the Arts Theatre from February 1 to 6.

In Confusions, human frailty is laid bare in a series of hilarious situations, from a devoted and isolated mother, to her unfaithful travelling salesman husband, through a solicitous waiter to well-heeled diners and a shambolic garden fete.

Hero’s Welcome sees decorated war hero, Murray, returns to his boyhood stomping ground with a new young bride, but all may not be as it seems.
