A YOUNG musician is one step closer to realising his dream as he goes through to the regional finals of a national music competition.
Daniel Hunter, from Hitcham, will join other hopefuls in the next stage of the UK Live and Unsigned competition, and is in with a chance of winning £50,000 recording and management contract.
Singer-songwriter Daniel, 21, wowed the judges at the Ipswich auditions last month, with a performance of his own song Smile.
Daniel said: “I enjoyed meeting people who were looking to shine in the competition like me.
“I felt it was important to stand out from the crowd, so I wore an outfit which included a black fedora and a pair of neon coloured Nike trainers.”
The musician, who lists his influences as Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson and Jeff Buckley, is now busy preparing for the next stage of the competition.
The regional finals kick off at Ipswich Corn Exchange on April 9. Acts will be battling it out to secure a place in the area finals and the grand final at London’s O2 arena.
