Friday, March 28 – RENATO D’AIELLO QUINTET: (Stoke By Nayland Hotel, 8pm, £16. Details: fleecejazz.org.uk) Formidable Italian tenorist in a fresh, international line-up, featuring Hiroshi Murayama (piano), Marc Thomas on crooning vocals, Dario Di Lecce (bass) and Lionel Boccara (drums).
Sunday, March 30 – MACIEK PYSZ: (The Cock Inn, Clare, doors 7.30pm, £10. Details: jazz-nights.com) Influenced by tango, Latin jazz, flamenco and classical, this Polish-born, London-based acoustic guitarist is unique on the UK scene. Featuring Simon Brown (piano), Bern Hodgkins (bass) and Roger Odell (drums), plus an opening set from singer Larraine Odell. JOSH KEMP: (Fludyers Arms, Felixstowe, 7.30pm, free. Details: jazzeast.vpweb.co.uk) Lyrical tenor man playing tunes from his new album Tone Poetry, supported by Simon Hurley (guitar), Rob Palmer (bass) and Russell Morgan (drums). BOPHOUSE BLUE: (The Fox, Bury, 7.15pm, free) Jazz and blues classics, with Chris Newman (guitar/vocals), Myke Clifford (sax/flute/vocals) and Sue Szymanski (percussion). ANDY BOWIE QUARTET: (Tram Shed, Cambridge, 8.30pm, free) Tenor saxophone-playing philosophy professor leads a quartet presenting a connoisseur’s choice from the modern jazz repertoire.
Monday, March 31 – JAZZ JAM: (The Windmill, Knox Road, Norwich, 8.30pm, free. Details: jazzjam.org.uk) Established and friendly jam session led by bassist Brendan Youngs and guitarist Lee Vasey. All instrumentalists and singers welcome for sitting in.
Tuesday, April 1 – NORWICH JAZZ CLUB TRIO: (Café Bar Marzano, The Forum, Norwich, doors 7pm, music 8pm, free.
