Children in and around Bury St Edmunds are in for a treat from next week, with the start of the Children’s Art Festival.

Jointly organised by The Apex and the Theatre Royal, the festival runs from June 22 until July 6 and encompasses a vast array of entertainment for smaller viewers.

Both venues, as well as Conservatoire EAST at West Suffolk College, are putting on shows for children aged three to 11 and their families.

The festival is full of stories and performances using music, drama, puppetry, dance, song and story-telling from across the world.

Spectators are encouraged to get involved, tweeting to @KidsFestBSE or using the hashtag #childrensartfest, or searching for Children’s Art Festival Bury St Edmunds on Facebook.

For a full programme or to book tickets, see www.theatreroyal.org or www.theapex.co.uk.
