Sam Sweeney, BBC Radio 2’s Folk Musician of the Year, is taking his latest show, which tells the history of his instrument, on tour next month.

The fiddle player in folk super-group Bellowhead will be bringing Sam Sweeney’s Fiddle: Made in the Great War to the Apex on September 8.

With bandmate Paul Sartin, concertina player Rob Harbron and award-winning storyteller Hugh Lupton, Sam tells the story of his violin, which was made in 1915 by an amateur luthier and lay undiscovered for almost a century.
