Two Suffolk villages are set to welcome an award-winning folk duo next month.

Blackheart, recently named Best British Duo at the UK Exposure Music Awards, will be performing their blend of acoustic folk and pop at Thornham Magna Village Hall on August 22 and Lakenheath Village Hall on September 4.

Made up of multi-instrumentalist Chrissy Mostyn and Rick Pilkington, Blackheart’s music has been described as ‘utterly magical’ by the BBC’s John Gilmore. They have released three successful albums and performed more than 600 concerts in England, Holland, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.

Their lyric inspiration comes from personal stories, and they share the moving accounts behind their songs’ creation.

The pair’s new album Songs from a Satellite came second in Album of the Year in the US Independent Music Awards.

Tickets are £10, available on the door or from Lakenheath News for the Lakenheath show.
