World-renowned classical musician and member of one of the most influential modern musical dynasties, Julian Lloyd Webber, will be sharing his life experiences with an audience at the Apex on May 5.
Known as one of the world’s greatest cellists, Julian won a Brit award for Elgar’s Cello Concerto, an interpretation hailed as the best ever.
His career was tragically cut short by a neck injury last year, leaving him unable to play full concerts.
In his latest show Julian will recount stories and anecdotes of touring, recording sessions, concerts, TV shows and more.
This will be linked with rare video footage of him playing and talking with many people involved in his life, such as Nigel Kennedy, Elton John, Katherine Jenkins and Tim Rice.
He will be joined by his wife and fellow cellist Jiaxin Lloyd Webber and pianist Pam Chowhan to perform Faure’s Elegy and Rachmaninov’s Cello Sonata as well as works by Andrew and William Lloyd Webber, Philip Glass and JS Bach.
Any cellists are invited to bring their instruments along, for the chance for Julian to play it on stage as the encore.
