Stowmarket Operatic and Dramatic Society calls for new members to join cast of Half A Sixpence
A call has gone out for more men (and women) to join the cast of the musical Half A Sixpence, in Stowmarket.
Stowmarket Operatic and Dramatic Society is staging the hit British comic musical this spring and would like to welcome new members of all ages.
Meryl Bunce, director, said: "It is a lovely musical, a rags to riches tale with lots of popular songs."
The show will be performed in traverse with no fixed set, so cast members will be moving scenery as part of the action.
Pre-audition meetings are on Tuesday(January 14) at the Boys' Brigade Hall and on Thursday (January 16) at Rookery Bowls Club, both from 7.30pm. Auditions are on January 19, from 10am, at Red Gables.
Rehearsals are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Stowmarket.
For more information, search SODS Half a Sixpence on Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The show is at the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts from April 21-25.
The society, which is affectionately known as SODS, will celebrate its centenary in 2022.
