Enjoy live music and theatre in the beautiful Abbey Gardens during this year’s Bury St Edmunds festival, in glorious May sunshine - hopefully.
On the first night of the festival the historic gardens will host the Youth Prom in the Park before Michael Jackson tribute, Navi, entertains crowds on Friday.
Festival organiser, Nick Wells, said: “The Abbey Gardens gigs have been an important part of the festival for a long time - it is such a magnificent setting and there is always a warm, fun and friendly atmosphere.
“It sounds as though we’re in for a great show with Navi as Michael Jackson, with many of his greatest hits, a live band and dancers too.”
Navi is the world’s number one Michael Jackson tribute act and the only one to have performed in front of Michael himself.
Taking to the stage with a band and backing dancers Navi will recreate Jackson’s classic hits including Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Billie Jean, and Thriller.
Between 11am and 3pm on May 18 the Abbey Gardens will host four hours of entertaining street theatre.
Three acts will amuse and amaze audiences in equal measure.
Mr Wells said: “Lots of humour, lots of fun, it’s great to have.”
The Youth Prom in the Park will see young musicians from West Suffolk Youth Wind Band, West Suffolk Youth Orchestra, West Suffolk Youth Big Band and three of the County Music Service’s Suffolk Youth Music ensembles take to the stage.
This year’s Bury St Edmunds festival will run from May 16 to May 19.
