Youngsters shine at recreational event

Bury Spectrum Gymnastics Club hosted their recreational club competition, where children as young as three competed in the pre-school event.

Emilia Fowlston claimed the spoils in the pre-school category. In the January to June four-year-old category, Alanna Evans was first with Megan Griggs joint-second with Annabella Vaughan and Mia-Jane Higgon third.

In the slightly younger July to December four-year-olds Harry Martin took the honours with Jessica Ward second and Lexie Hardingham and Sophia Fairhurst joint third.

Annabel Ellison came first in the five-year-old section, with Lexie Proctor second and Kitty Cooper third.

Results of the recreational club competition are as follows: Five and Under; Ollie Graham; Five and Over; Abigail Squirrel, Hannah Higbee, Grace Adamson; Under-Six; Emma Young, Sebastian Konrath, Caris Gregory; Over-Six; Willow Stringer, Sophie Farrow, Jack Stirling; Under Seven; Fern Beatty, Grace Beasley, Phoebe Mcdonald; Over-Seven; Isobelle Taylor, Emily Boreham, Alice Ellison; Advanced Seven and Over: Lucia Meredith Barton, Rihanna Harriaman; Over-10; Lucy Beare, Kate Kelly.

Results from the advanced competition as follows: Aged Seven and Under: Isabel Garrard, Ciara Evans, Chloe Dawson; Seven to Eight category: Evie Sear, Lily Sanders, Sophie Fulbrook; Under-Eight; Isaac Lewis, Herbie Morris, Joshua Sanders; Nine and Under; Elizabeth May, Amelie Webb, Megan Warnock; Over nine; Emma May, Olivia Allan, Gosia Zawada; Over-10 ; Lesha Taylor-Howells, Tilly Moore, Emily Matthews.

An acro pairs competition was also held with Jasmine Dores and Aimee Morris taking first ahead of Katie Drayton and Bobbie Morris.

The regional level two tumbling event was won by Anna Barlow ahead of Bobbie Morris and Haley Clarke.

In the level two, six to seven age group, Herbie Morris was first and at level three Kylie Broersma was first, followed by Tamzin Ellis and Eve Johnson in third.
