Two under-18s are in line for their Bury Town debuts when the Blues host Lewes in their final Ryman League Premier Division match on Saturday (3pm).

Manager Ben Chenery has called 17-year-old right midfielder or striker Matt Skevington and 16-year-old right-back or centre-half Ryan Yallop into his squad from feeder side Team Bury.

But he has said he will not be making wholesale changes with opponents Lewes currently one place and two points above the drop zone and potentially needing to win, depending on the outcome of Pacehaven and Telescombe’s home game with Hampton and Richmond Borough.

“It is an important game as they have got to get a win, but I will look to put the youngsters in at some stage and give them a chance,” said Chenery.

Of King Edward VI Upper School student Skevington, and 16-year-old Mildenhall High School pupil Yallop, the latter recently released from Cambridge United, he said: “Matt has been doing very well and deserves a chance and Ryan has been doing well for Team Bury and it was a surprise he was released from Cambridge United recently, as he is a good player.”

Striker Sam Reed is set to be back available for the game ahead of talks about his future, with confirmed bottom side Bury having seen their recent upturn in form halted on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat at Hampton and Richmond.

Borough had left it late to secure their Premier Division status with a win over a defiant Blues outfit on Saturday.

One lapse of concentration at the back from Bury was all that spoiled an otherwise solid performance.

Substitute Tom Collins was allowed too much time to put his shot past Alex Archer on 88 minutes.

Bury: Archer, Short, Weavers, Hall, Allen, Paterson, Miller (Patrick 69), Nurse (Collins 82), Otobo, Kennedy, Garrett (Lampshire 74).
