Copford 223-9 lost to
by four wickets
Worlington travelled to face newly promoted Copford and collected their first victory of the new season.
The home side batted first and were restricted early on thanks to wickets for Sean Cooper (1-11) and Nathan Twiddy (1-31), followed by two for Ben Hyde (2-59).
Skipper James Bell (53) stood firm while further wickets fell, helping his side pass the 100 mark, departing off the bowling of Graham Ford (2-35).
At 182-9, the last Copford pairing posted a last wicket stand of 41 to close on 223-9 denying Worlington the full bowling points. Tom Helmer finished unbeaten on 50.
Worlington lost Chris Baugh and Jimmy Watson early in the run chase before Richard Ford was joined by Ben Hyde and the latter scored his first half century in a knock that included four maximums.
He then fell to the slow bowling of Kieran Savill and his captain was next to go, as he departed for 59.
It was then left to Graham Ford to bat with the lower middle order and although Worlington lost two further wickets, Ford timed the chase perfectly remaining unbeaten on 48 as he and Jonno Peachey (18no) saw Worlington to victory.
n Worlington II (141) hosted Nacton (179-8) and fell 38 runs short in a low scoring Division Five affair.
Worlington inserted their visitors and Nacton were held to 179-8 With Jonathan Warner top scoring with 46. Paul Marston (2-52) and Shaun Lister (2-18) impressed with the ball.
Having reached 114-3 Worlington suffered a collapse and were dismissed for 141. Daren Hayward (46), Thomas Baugh (34) and Barny Bowens (17) were the only batsman to post double figure scores.
