West Row’s Sparrow aims to be flying high at King’s Lynn

The national stock car racing season kicks off at the Adrian Flux Arena, in King’s Lynn, tomorrow(5.30pm) with a record entry of cars set to start the season in style.

BriSCA Formula Two stock cars contest their opening world qualifying round, while the two-litre and 1300cc stock car categories both race for prestigious Clive Grief Memorial Trophies.

The massive 60-car two-litre saloon stock car entry includes West Row racer Paul Sparrow who will be debuting his new Audi A4-bodied car – a first for the formula.

Sparrow, a former regular in bangers, said: “It was definitely worth all the time and effort as it looks awesome.

“I’m hoping it goes as well as it looks! I’m hoping for some better luck at Lynn this year as haven’t done great there in the saloon.”

The 1300cc stock cars have raised a record entry for this meeting of more than 50 cars, with Bury St Edmunds’ Steve Littlejohn among them.

Littlejohn will be aiming for a race win, having finished second on two occasions last season.
