Ward wins inaugural Footgolf Championship

Kevin Ward was crowned the winner of the first Suffolk Open FootGolf Championship at Stonham Barns.

In a round that included seven twos, Ward, from Colchester, achieved his best ever score of a five-under-par 53 around the Stonham course to take victory ahead of Dan McLaughlin, who also scored 53 and lost out on count-back.

Meanwhile, Darren Wheat, Chris Tranter, Liam Osborne and Ben Garnham all finished closely behind with a score of 54.

There were three holes- in-one on the day. Amazingly, Lewis Warnes achieved the first ever two holes-in-one in a round. He holed-in-one on the second and then again on the 16th, while the third hole-in-one was achieved by Matt Prescott on the seventh hole.

More than 60 footgolfers competed in The Suffolk Open FootGolf Championship, which was played over 18 holes medal play around the scenic Stonham Barns FootGolf Course with Ward receiving the Scarlett Brown Trophy.
