HELPING HAND: Volunteers who helped redecorate Stowmarket Rugby Club as part of the Natwest Rugby Force weekend

Stowmarket Rugby Club took part in the launch of the Natwest Rugby Force weekend by redecorating the outside of their clubhouse and storage container.

Despite the sweltering weather, 20 volunteers, including three from the RFU in Twickenham, turned up for a 9am start with a further 20 arriving later on to help complete the task.

“It was great to see new faces volunteering from under-14’s through to families helping, this is why Stowmarket Rugby Club is recognised as being a real community club,” said club facilities manager Suzanne Allen.

This is just the start of a number of events at the club this summer which will see the launch of the RFU Festival of Rugby as well as the club’s own ‘Give Us a Try’ campaign aimed at getting young children into the game.
