VIDEO: Blues boss satisfied after progressing in the FA Cup

Ben Chenery was left satisfied after his Bury Town side came out on top of an eight-goal thriller with neighbours Thetford Town to secure a 5-3 FA Cup Preliminary Round victory on Sunday.

In a frantic and topsy-turvy encounter, all eight goals came in the opening 45 minutes with the visitors finding themselves 4-0 up in the opening 15 minutes.

Youngster Noel Aitkens broke the deadlock after just six minutes, with three further quickfire goals coming from Ollie Hughes, Bradley Barber and an fine individual effort from Tevan Allen.

Oliver Standley and Ashley Thomspon reduced the deficit shortly after only for Remi Garrett to restore Bury’s three goal advantage.

The home side struck again with the eighth goal of the game in the 37th minute but Bury held firm to seal their place in the next round and continue their promising start tot he new campaign.
