Stowmarket Town sign Ollie Canfer while Mildenhall take Colclough

Canfer had called time on his playing career at the age of 29 last season, leaving Bostik League side Bury Town after being plaugued by a troublesome back injury before joining Debenham LC for a brief spell as assistant manager.

The player who won the title Stow will be looking to take this season back in the 2013/14 campaign with Hadleigh has also made 14 appearances for AFC Sudbury, also in the Bostik League North Division – one step up from the Old Gold and Black's current level.

Canfer announced his injury-forced retirement from playing in October 2017, following two years at Bury Town where he made 43 appearances, scoring 13 goals, though not having managed an outing in 2017/18.

Stowmarket have previously announced Sam Nunn (Needham Market), Tom Matthews (Wroxham), Max Melanson (Thetford), Scott Chaplin (Felixstowe) and Robbie Sweeney (Wroxham) as other new additions to Rick Andrews' squad for 2018/19.

The Old Gold and Blacks just missed out on promotion last season, finishing third with 103 points.

* Meanwhile, Mildenhall Town have announced they have signed young full-back Jake Colclough, who made 11 appearances for AFC Sudbury in the Bostik League North Division under Mark Morsley last season while still completing his scholarship at AFC Sudbury Academy.

Dean Greygoose's side have also acquired Andrew Camilo-Tayaca, believed to also be a full-back, from Leyton Orient.

It takes Mildenhall's new additions to five with David Cooper (Bury Town), Jarid Robson (Haverhill Boro) and John Sands (Needham) having previously been announced.
