The defender, who can play either at left-back or centre-back, has signed a contract at Bloomfields following his release from League Two outfit Colchester United at the end of last term.

He is the third new face to arrive at Needham during the close season after goalkeeper Jake Jessup and the versatile Joe Marsden.

Boss Richard Wilkins said: "JJ comes highly recommended and was unlucky to be released by Colchester.

"He is quick, very athletic and will fit in nicely."

Meanwhile, Jeremiah Kamanzi has agreed a deal to remain with the Marketmen for the 2018/19 campaign.

The former AFC Sudbury player joined Needham in January and went on to make 21 appearances before the end of the season.
