RETURNING: Ben Anderson has re-signed for Thetford

Thetford Town have been boosted by the return of Ben Anderson ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Great Yarmouth Town (3pm).

The young winger had a previous spell with the Brecklanders, before leaving to go to university.

During his first stint at Mundford Road, Anderson memorably shone during the 1-0 Norfolk Senior Cup win over Norwich City Under-21s in 2014 — a performance that earned him a trial with the EFL Championship side.

He has now re-signed for Thetford and could feature against the Bloaters, who are currently sixth in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division table.

“Ben is an exciting addition that everyone will remember from that Norwich game,” said manager Danny White.

“He gives us bags of pace out wide, with a goal threat as well. It is great to have him involved and I am sure he will hit the ground running.”

Anderson has linked up with a Thetford side that exited The Buildbase FA Vase on Saturday at Hoddeson Town, who ran out 2-0 winners.

On Tuesday, White’s men will play host to higher-league King’s Lynn Town in the Norfolk Senior Cup third round (7.45pm).

n Mildenhall Town are 11 points clear at the top of the Premier Division after winning 4-2 at Wivenhoe Town.

Goals from Chris Bacon (2), Stephen Spriggs and Luke Parkinson did the damage for Dean Greygoose’s side.

Tomorrow, Hall are at home to 14th-placed Long Melford (3pm).

n Walsham-le-Willows, who were beaten 3-0 at home by Melford last time out, travel to Godmanchester Rovers tomorrow (3pm).

n In the First Division, Stowmarket Town’s trip to Team Bury on Saturday was postponed, while on Tuesday they played out a 2-2 draw at Diss Town.

Duane Wright and Ace Howell were on target for Stow, who take on Capel Plough in the Suffolk Senior Cup tomorrow (3pm).

On the transfer front, Stow have signed Paul Musgrove from Walsham.

n Team Bury are set to return to action tomorrow afternoon with a trip to Debenham LC.
