Thetford Town move out of bottom three
Thetford Town moved out of the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division’s bottom three thanks to a 4-0 victory away at Haverhill Rovers on Saturday.
Hosts Rovers had been rocked during the week by the sacking of manager Michael Shinn, and Thetford capitalised on that to win in resounding fashion.
Braces from Shane Leech and Shaun Hudson did the damage, with Haverhill also having William Gardner sent off during the second half.
Danny White’s men will now go in search of back to back wins when they play host to Long Melford at Mundford Road tomorrow afternoon (3pm).
n Elsewhere, in the First Division, Stowmarket Town slipped to a 3-0 defeat at home to Cornard United.
Stow had not lost at Greens Meadow since December 5, but a brace from Romario Dunne and a further goal from Luke Payne wrapped up a routine victory for the away team.
Tomorrow, Stow face a trip to Braintree Town Reserves (3pm), who are four points better off than them.
n Second from bottom Team Bury did not play last weekend, and may have wished they had not returned to action on Tuesday as theyt suffered a comprehensive 4-0 loss against Debenham LC.
Tomorrow, they will welcome Chris Tracey’s Cornard to Ram Meadow.
n Bottom-placed Needham Market Reserves were beaten for the 21st time in the league, on this occasion at the hands of Diss Town.
