The Striders lend a helping hand for charity

Stowmarket Striders made two donations to charities at a special presentation evening.

The first was made to the British Royal Legion and was for £334.08 from donations collected at races and cake stalls which took place over Remembrance Sunday.

The Striders also presented a cheque for £1,000 to the St Aubyn’s Centre, the only NHS Adolescent Acute and Intensive Care Unit in the south of England.

Charlotte Cobbald, who ran with Striders and raced in the Scenic Seven in 2013, was treated at the unit before her death in the summer. Her mother, Hilde, released doves before the race in November and committed with husband Stephen to raise as much money as possible for the unit.
