Support from home as Bird flies the nest

INTERNATIONAL SELECTION: Sara Bird in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon
INTERNATIONAL SELECTION: Sara Bird in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon

Marathon runner Sara Bird is to receive support from Bury Physio in her quest to rise up the national rankings this year.

Bury St Edmunds’ Bird was the seventh fastest woman in the country in 2014 after recording two hours 39 minutes in the London Marathon, which earned her England selection.

She represented the country in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, finishing 10th woman in 2.48.

“Representing my country was a great experience and has been one of my aims since I started running,” said Bird. “I want to improve my times further at this distance, and be in a position to be considered for future international selections.”

Bury Physio will provide accountant’s assistant Bird with regular sports massage from Jackie Geatches, as well as an hour of personal training at their gym each month from Kevin Marshall.
