Suffolk are well positioned going into their clash with Staffordshire in the Minor Counties Championship Eastern Division.

The three-day affair played at Ipswich School runs from Sunday to Tuesday.

Suffolk sit in second place after a win and a draw from their opening two games.

Justin Bishop’s side features a strong contingent of players from Bury and Woolpit and are one of only four sides with a win this season.

Suffolk drew with Lincolnshire before beating Cambridgeshire — a match held at Bury’s Victory Ground.

The side that defeated Lincolnshire included Bury’s Bishop, Tom Huggins, Sasha Ward and Matt Hunn — alongside Woolpit’s Ben Shepperson.

Their opponents sit in seventh place, having drawn both of their games.

The winners of the Eastern and Western divisions meet at the end of the season to determine the champions.
