Stowmarket Netball Club continue recent success

Stowmarket Ladies Netball Club continued its recent success by picking up the runners-up spot at the Suffolk Sports Awards.

The award follows Stowmarket’s recent accolade of netball club of the year, which was given to them by the Suffolk Netball Association.

They were pipped to the post for first place by Wortham Tennis Club.

Stowmarket vice-chairman Donna Cooper said: “As the only club in attendance on the evening we were very pleased to represent netball for Suffolk.”

Recently, the club had Danni Osborn, Holly Onstenk and Holly Voller who all passed their beginners umpires award.

In recent league action, Stowmarket Hawks defeated Framlingham Finches in a top-of-the-table encounter.

Special mention to Helen Cape, who up until this season was playing in a lower division with a different team and Jo Howes for taking control of the circle.

If you would like to have a go at playing netball, the club welcome all abilities.
