Starlet Stittle bags individual and team honours

Up-and-coming equestrian star Lucy Spittle, 10, returned home with individual and team honours from an event held in Leighton Buzzard.

Competing on her pony Barham Maestro (Charlie), the Bury St Edmunds riding ace travelled to Bury Farm Equestrian Centre as one of a four-strong Suffolk team.

Spittle helped the Suffolk team, competing against about 70 other riders in class, take top spot with a clear round of jumping.

The youngster, who is sponsored by local riding centre Barrow Hall Stables, in Suffolk, progressed into the jump off individually and won the whole competition.

A delighted Spittle returned home with sashes, medals, ribbons and rugs.
