Stanton Reserves triumph in dress rehearsal for cup final
In a dress rehearsal of the upcoming Division One knockout cup final, third-placed Stanton Reserves got the better of top side St Edmunds 1964 FC at the Heath, writes Bill Tinkler.
Goals from Ceth O’Bannion and Olly Gould sent the spoils the way of Stanton with a 2-0 away win.
Wortham completed their season following their recent troubles with an away fixture against Westbury United.
Goals from Jez Knight and Marc Weal gave the hosts a comfortable 2-0 win.
In Division Two, Elmswell’s visitors were top side the Trunk, the spoils were shared in a goalless draw.
Thurston were hosts to Bury Wanderers at Cavendish Meadow.
Four goals in each half gave Thurston a resounding 8-0 home win.
On target for Thurston were Ian Fancett (5) and one goal each for Martin Bennett, Charlie McDowell and Dan Partington.
Bury Town Rams B played host to RF Saints.
The Rams triumphed 3-1 in this one thanks to goals from Chris Thompson, Hari Pigeon and Simon Gay.
Luke Frammingham was the Saints scorer.
In Division Three, Beck Row made their longest trip of the campaign for their away game with Walsham le Willows B.
The B’s won this one 5-2 this after Beck had taken a 2-0 lead.
On target for Walsham were Ash Forbes (penalty), Carl Alexander (2), Julian Guest and Taylor Pooley.
Josh Warren netted both the Beck Row goals.
