Good Friday saw West Suffolk Wheeler and Triathlon Club’s Mandy Bunn debut ride in the first of this season’s Women’s Eastern Racing League’s 10 mile time trials, hosted by Great Yarmouth Cycling Club at Wortwell.

The 31 riders found conditions chilly with a headwind to contend with, although Bunn put in a good ride to finish first novice.

On Saturday, three Wheelers rode in the Stowmarket and District Cycling Club 20 mile time trial on the challenging BS33 Debenham course, with Paul Rooke again displaying controlled riding to finish 10th overall and first Wheeler home.

Henry Wood followed in fifth in age group and 43rd overall, much improved on 2014’s time on the same course, while Richard Yarrow, finished 49th to wrap up a good weekend for the club’s time triallists.

Elsewhere, the first round of the Eastern Region Youth Circuit Racing series took place on the Redbridge Cycle Centre circuit on bank holiday Monday. Wheelers Oliver Griggs (under-12) and Fraser Elsworth (under14) both stepped up to the mark.
