Bury captain Matt Edison has urged his side to maintain their focus to complete the season unbeaten, despite clinching the London One North title on Saturday.
The west Suffolk outfit have won all 23 of their matches this campaign and just need to taste success in three more for a perfect record of 26 victories from 26 fixtures.
Edison bagged a brace of tries as Bury ran in 11 to see off Chingford on Saturday and clinch the bonus-point triumph needed to seal the league title and promotion to the National League for the first time in the club’s history.
“This has been the culmination of everything,” said Edison. “We started off well in the first few games and although we hit some hard patches, the ambition and desire to win spurs you on even further.
“The fact we have been building up those wins, it became harder and harder to lose.
“We have proved we are the best team in this league and want to take that into next year.
“It’s a massive weight off our shoulders, but our goal is to go undefeated and there are three games left.
“Now the challenge is to keep focused until the end of the season.”
