Junior cricket is going strong at Garboldisham Cricket Club, helped along by a big contribution of players from Thetford Grammar School (TGS).

There are 32 pupils from TGS registered at Garboldisham with ages ranging from six through to 15 and the group includes 12 girls.

The youngsters travel from various locations across Norfolk and Suffolk, including Watton, Mundford, Thetford and Bury St Edmunds, to attend training on Friday nights during the cricket season and a number of them are also established members of the club’s thriving youth teams.

Garboldisham Cricket Club has the ECB’s Clubmark accreditation and is one of Norfolk Cricket Board’s focus clubs.

Youth cricket is an important and thriving element of the club’s activities and the quality of the training on offer plays a big part in that success.

The pupils come from Garboldisham, Attleborough, Banham, Bunwell, Bury St Edmunds, Feltwell, Hillborough, Holme Hale, Horringer, Kenninghall, Mundford, Methwold, Thetford, Walsham-le-Willows, Watton and Weeting.
