Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club will look to get 2015 off to the best possible start in wet and muddy conditions today.

The Haberden has survived a deluge of overnight rain to host today’s National Three London and South East encounter against Amersham and Chiltern (3pm), but the local football programme has been decimated.

Bury Town’s hopes of building on their superb 4-3 victory at Canvey Island on New Year’s Day were ended by the weather as their clash against Maidstone United was postponed, while Needham Market’s trip to Tilbury also failed a pitch inspection in Ryman One North.

Thetford Town overcame Ely City 2-1 in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division last night, but Mildenhall Town’s trip to FC Clacton today is off.

In the First Division, Stowmarket Town v AFC Sudbury Reserves, Saffron Walden Town v Team Bury and Needham Market Reserves v Dereham Town Reserves are off.
