Newmarket progress in national competitions

Newmarket Avenue made progress in both the Tony Allcock Trophy and National Mixed Fours competitions.

A 44-31 preliminary round victory against Meldreth set-up a clash with either Chesterton or St Neots in the Tony Allcock Trophy.

Jean Stephens oversaw a convincing 28-6 win against Mark Emery’s Cambs and County in the preliminary round of the National Mixed Fours. They will play Martin Pankhurst’s Cambs and County team in the next round.

Newmarket’s Men’s County Fours team continued their good start to the season with a 6-1 victory over Coleridge.

The EDL Men’s Triples were 6-1 winners after beating Bottisham, while the Ladies’ Triples picked up maximum points against Bottisham.
