Needham Market manager Mark Morsley is expecting a tough test when Thamesmead Town visit tomorrow (3pm).

The Marketmen have been out of action since their New Year’s Day win against AFC Sudbury, with Saturday’s scheduled trip to Brentwood Town the latest match to be postponed because of the bad weather.

“The lads are gagging to play,” insisted Morsley, whose side sit second in the Ryman League Division One North table. “It’s a busy month ahead for us, as we have to fit all the games that have been postponed in.”

Needham are six points behind leaders Harlow Town, but have three games in hand on their Essex-based title rivals.

“Thamesmead are one of the better teams in the league and beat Harlow a couple of weeks ago,” said Morsley.

Needham will still be without Chris Hogg (injured) tomorrow, while Keiran Morphew and Steve Holder should both be available.
