Neil Thompson had another fine catch at Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery, bagging a fine rainbow weighing 5lb 4ozs to book his place in the 2014 Trout Masters competition.

Apps bloodworms, buzzers and yellow dancers were taking fish on floating lines.

Meanwhile after a very large stocking of fish the fishing has just got better this week with several anglers catching into double figures.

Of those to enjoy a big haul, season ticket holder Leo Orlando returned 18 on Sunday to a variety of methods including a slow intermediate line and a cats whisker followed by a floating line and buzzers as the lake warmed up.

Tomorrow the fishery will be holding the first leg of the Airflo Bank Masters. Limited places are still available via www.iain

n Fishing at Larkwood was a bit slower due to the storms but has started to pick up again now that the weather has settled.

The larger fish have begun to show again with an impressive haul of 12.5lb taken by Mike Wilding and a nice brace of 6.2lb and 5.14lb taken by Pat Smith.

The best flies are proving to be anything with a touch of colour or shine following a visit from the River Lark.

An interesting sight at Larkwood for the bird watchers has also been the arrival of red kite across the lake.
