Culford Prep School pupil and tennis scholar Edward Pomeroy has become under-14 boys’ singles champion in the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) National Prep School Tennis Championships.

The 13-year-old, who lives in Culford village, defeated players from Millfield School and St Hugh’s Prep, among others, to win the title and also reached the semi-finals of the under-14 boys’ doubles with Tommy Freeman.

Fellow pupils Lowenna Clarke and Tilly Blasdale, both aged 12, were runners-up in the final of the under-14 girls’ doubles, losing to a pair from Millfield School.

Blasdale also reached the semi-finals of the under-14 girls’ singles.
