Olympic silver medallist Ross Edgar will be among the prestigious talent to compete in a nine-race criterium programme across Ixworth on Monday (12.15pm).
The free-to-attend event, promoted by West Suffolk Wheelers and Triathlon Club, will involve fast and frenetic cycling action on a close road circuit designed to test even the finest riders.
Already signed up are the pro outfit of Team Raleigh, including former national champion Graham Briggs, Russell Hampton, Tom Scully and Tom Moses, as well as the Sigma Sport team including Jake Hales, Andrew Griffiths, and Edgar, making a return to the event he rode as a juvenile.
Team UK Youth and node 4 Giordana, featuring many of their top riders are also set to take to the Ixworth start line for the first time.
“The fact that top teams are looking to come to Ixworth will help lift our event profile and give the youngsters and public in Suffolk an opportunity to see and meet the best riders in the country,” said organiser Adrian Grimwood.
