TWO Culford Prep pupils, Anastasia Mozhina (12) and Hannah Vickers (13) have won the IAPS National Tennis Championships 14 and Under Girls’ Doubles title. The championships were held at Queenswood School, Hertfordshire.
Anastasia and Hannah did extremely well to beat Millfield School, an established elite tennis school, in the final to claim the title.
Culford has won this particular competition for four consecutive years, and this takes their total to seven national titles in the last four years.
In the singles, Hannah lost narrowly to the Millfield number one player in the semi-finals, and Anastasia played some accomplished tennis for her first National finals, to go through to the last 16 of the competition.
David Hall, Culford’s Director of Tennis was delighted with the girls’ performance: “I am so pleased for Anastasia and Hannah, all the hard work in training and preparing for the event has paid off. It is another great result for Culford, competing among the leading tennis playing schools in the UK.”
