Owain Taylor, a recent addition to Moreton Hall, progressed to the semi-finals of the British Under-19s Championships at the weekend.

Taylor defeated highly-ranked Bradley Masters to set up a last-four encounter with top seed George Parker, which he came up short in.

Fellow Moreton Hall players Gus Beecroft (under-17), Billy Beecroft (under-15s), Isac Andersson (under-15s), Hugo Andersson (under-13s) and Emma Bartley took part in this year’s event.

Moreton Hall’s men’s team overcame Colchester-based Lexden in the Suffolk League’s top flight last Thursday.

George Stammers took a big scalp, while Cameron Haddow went the distance in defeat.

Club coach Martin Levens put Hall back in front, but Stuart Parke could not quite get over the finishing line against Chris Wheat, losing out in five long sets.

However, club number one Jamie Goodrich came from two sets down and saved four match points in the fourth to win.
