Combat Kickboxing Academy attended the ICO British Championships, held at Kidderminster, and came away with a medal haul including, two golds, a silver and three bronze medals.

Lloyd Dunnett claimed the first gold medal of the event, forcing a second round stoppage of his opponent after he had already received a standing count in the previous round.

Marley Davies was crowned British Champion after a convincing victory in his final, stopping his opponent with a well placed cut kick.

Rossi Reid had to settle for a silver medal after struggling to overcome a much taller and heavier fighter in the final.

Harry Robinson drew the oldest and the tallest opponent in his category, but worked exceptionally hard to lose by one point. In the third-fourth play off, his opponent refused to fight him and Robinson was awarded the bronze medal.

Cameron Elvin also claimed Bronze. After narrowly losing his semif-final bout, his opponent in the third-four play off fight refused to fight him, and he was awarded the bout.

Leon Dunnett missed out on a final appearance narrowly losing out by a judges verdict. However he put the semi final disappointment behind him to claim victory and bronze over his USKA gym based fighter in the third-fourth play off fight with a flurry of hand combinations.

Abigail Read’s competition ended in heart ache as despite a spirited performance, was left to rue a point reduction in her third-fourth play off fight, as it ultimately cost her a bronze medal.
