The West Suffolk Golf Centre, near Mildenhall, has just appointed Joanne Bates as their new head golf professional.

Bates, from Fordham, started her playing career at Ely at the age of 13.

She became a fully-qualified member of the PGA of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 2005 after completing her training at the world-renowned, Royal Birkdale Golf Club.

In 2010, she was specifically recruited as a female golf instructor in the UAE to raise awareness of ladies golf in the emerging market and was appointed their girls national team coach in 2011 and 2012.

With a vast history and background in developing lady golfers of all ages and abilities Joanne creates the perfect environment for them to feel comfortable learning and progressing their golfing game, no matter their experience or level.

Up until recently, she was the leading female instructor at Mission Hills Golf Academy in China - the largest golf club in the world.

Her experiences have enhanced her teaching, providing a structured route to learning the game based around the students’ lifestyle in order for them to reach their golfing objectives.

She is available for private or group lessons and will continue the junior Saturday and Get Into Golf sessions.

To book, call 07855 821116 or call the clubhouse on 01638 718972.
