Inter-school competition to celebrate club’s anniversary

The Mark Farnham Schools of Taekwondo inter-school championships 2012 were held recently in King’s Lynn.

In the 25th year anniversary since the first school was established in 1987 in King’s Lynn (now 14 schools in East Anglia with more than 600 students) more than 150 students took part with pattern, sparring and destruction and team sparring events held during the day.

Mildenhall results: Liam Hancock: boys green belt patterns 2nd; Holly Day: ladies black belt patterns 2nd; Joshua Lee: men’s red belt lightweight sparring 3rd.

Thetford results: Mariana Costa: (girls) yellow belt patterns 1st; Ruban Costa: men’s blue belt patterns 1st; Lee Spencer: men’s blue belt patterns 3rd and men’s red belt heavyweight sparring 1st; Iain Rust: men’s red belt heavyweight sparring 3rd.

A fundraiser was also held for Motor Neurone Disease which raised £112.87.

The Mark Farnham Schools are now preparing for their next event, which will be the South Midlands Championships, to be held in Hereford in February.
