Impressive displays help secure runners-up spot

MILDENHALL and District Swimming Club sent a strong team of swimmers to Newmarket Leisure Centre to compete in the Rose Seeley Novice Trophy Gala.

Both boys and girls were on great form, with a first places in the 10/11 and under age category for the freestyle relays.

Ben Wicks secured first place in the 12 and under 50m breaststroke.

Angel Walton brought it home for the girls in the 12 and under and Annabel Williams made it five in the 10 and under category.

After the interval, they secured an impressive further eight wins to help them finish in second overall behind champions Saffron Walden.

There was first places for both the boys and girls in the mixed age group medley relays.

Anna Armstrong secured first place with a great swim in the 12 and under backstroke.

Evie Luker brought home gold in the 11 and under 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Victoria Orcutt came first in the 25m butterfly in the 10 years and under age category.

Daniel Wicks assured the team’s 13 first places with an impressive display in the 12 and under 50m freestyle.
