Red Lodge’s Rob Huff is set to be in action this weekend in the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s meeting at the Circuito Internacional de Vila Real in Portugal.
Last year with the Lada Sport Rosneft team, the 36-year-old struggled to make too much of an impact on proceedings, finishing 10th in race one and then ninth in the second race.
However, Huff has enjoyed some of his previous trips to Portugal, having finished first in the Chevrolet car five years ago.
On top of that, he has stood on the podium on five separate occasions in the western European country.
Huff goes into the event on the back of his outing at Russia’s Moscow Raceway earlier this month, when he was able to record fourth and seventh-placed finishes over the course of the weekend.
The 2012 World Touring Car champion had been as high as third in the drivers’ standings, but he has since slipped down to eighth position with 103 points to his name.
