CLAIRE Hoblyn finished well up the field in last weekend’s Framlingham 10k road race, which attracted a maximum entry of 300.

Hoblyn, of Saint Edmund Pacers, won her over-45 age group with a time of 45mins 07secs for a tough two-lap challenge, leaving her fifth lady overall.

Mark Watts was the first Pacer to cross the line in 66th spot with 43.58, followed by Ian Gooderham (82nd in 44.51) and Stephen Hatten (83rd in 44.51).

Roger Brand finished fifth in his over-60 age category in 49.06, and other Pacers to finish were Clare Taylor (49.57), Simon Whalley (51.15) and Phil Nutley (61.37).

Meanwhile, Kevin Vaughan finished 19th at the Wissey Half-Marathon, held from Oxborough in Norfolk. Vaughan was second over-45 veteran in 1hr 23mins 19secs. Simon Perry clocked 1.31.09 in 49th spot.

Finally, the Pacers’ annual meeting will be held at Old Fellows Hall in Whiting Street on Thursday, September 27, at 7.30pm. All members are welcome to attend.
