Following Needham Market Football Club’s fourth annual charity golf day, held last month at Hintlesham Golf Club, the presentation to the charity it supported was made at their pre-season friendly against Colchester United.

This year it was decided to support a local charity known as the Brendan Oakes Trust, which helps teenagers with cancer.

The charity was established at the request of Brendan Oakes after he was diagnosed with bone cancer at the age of 12 and who
died shortly after his 15th birthday.

Receiving a cheque for £2,049 on behalf of the charity was Heather Oakes, Brendan’s sister.
