Bury St Edmunds Golf Club Men’s Winter Goblets is a four round event with the best of three scores counting.

Round two was played on Sunday, and has the added bonus of a trophy attached to it – The Famous Grouse.

The winners were Martinus Robbertse and Kevin Farrell with a superb 39 points, which included a back nine of 21 points, dropping only four shots to par impressive scoring for two 13 handicap players.

In the runner-up spot with 36 points were Steve King and Julian Cooksley who, standing on the 16th tee, had a chance to catch the winners.

However, a weak finish of no points at 17 and only one point at the 18th wrecked any chance they had.

Third was father and son, Steven (dad) and Michael Gee, who also had their chances with three holes to play, but also
finished weakly scoring only two points on holes 16, 17 and 18.
