Students took part and led in a wide range of athletic and multi skills activities including, javelin, discus, shot putt, hurdles, mini golf and keepie uppies.

School sport co-ordinator James Sturgeon said: “This fantastic event really showcased the high levels of ability and competition in state schools within the Bury Schools Partnership.

“Children competing to achieve their personal best as well as overall best against others provided an engaging and competitive environment for them to thrive and develop in.”

Every child attempted to achieve their personal best in their events, while everyone completed the great school run, four laps of the track.

Sports leaders from St James, Hardwick and King Edward VI School ensured that the festival ran smoothly.
