It proved a weekend of double delight for Chris Walker-Hebborn as he clinched two gold medals at the British Gas Swimming Championships in Glasgow.

The Bury St Edmunds born ace also enjoyed successive victories over two-time world champion Liam Tancock pipping him to the 50m and 100m backstroke titles.

His first victory came in the longer distance, clocking a time of 53 seconds and 82 seconds before beating his personal best in the shorter discipline with a time of 25.09.

Despite the medals, Walker-Hebborn’s wait for a place at this summer’s Commonwealth Games is yet to be confirmed after missing the qualification times.
